Durability Study of Rubberized Lightweight Concrete Using Nano-Silica

Lightweight concrete (LWC) is used in the construction of partition and panel walls framed structures because it reduces dead load acting on structure. Rubberized lightweight aggregate made by using waste rubber tyre chips as a partial replacement coarse which increases ductility, toughness minimizes impact effect concrete. The presence content decreases compressive strength bond strength, affects durability Nowadays, nanomaterials' application has received much attention to enhance properties. Due nano-filler pozzolanic reaction, microstructure becomes more homogeneous less porous, especially at interfacial transition zone (ITZ), leads reduced permeability. Among nano-materials, nano-silica gained particular compared conventional mineral addition due its better performance Incorporating small number nanoparticles can modify nano-structure cementitious materials, thus producing high durability. This study investigate properties rubberized LWC containing dosages 1%, 3%, 5% cement, respectively. Durability under marine environment be analysed based resistance penetration chloride ions for 28 56 days.
